The Big Exeter Feast
A Conference exploring how we can make food more accessible, affordable, healthier, sustainable and celebrated within the City!
Thursday 23 November, 2023, 10 – 3.30 pm
Exeter Community Centre, St Davids Hill
Includes shared lunch of locally-sourced produce.
Organised by Exeter Connect, the conference brings together stakeholders from a wide range of work in the Exeter VCSE on projects/activities related to food.
This includes but is not limited to:
- Food Insecurity
- Food in culture
- Food and mental and physical health issues
- Food waste
- Food markets and access
- Local growing – community growing, allotments and farms
- Food procurement – supply chains, community supermarkets and buyers’ groups
- Any other food initiatives
There will be panel discussions, pecha kucha presentations and plenty of networking opportunities.
Call out for workshops/talks/demos/field trip sessions on food related VCSE, academic or cultural work in Exeter in run up to The Big Exeter Feast
In the lead up to the conference, we are asking if groups, organisations, networks and individuals would like to organise a talk/networking event/practical workshop/field trip session. The outcomes, questions or requests that come out of these sessions could then be shared in a display at the conference. This could be as simple as a flipchart of notes but the more interesting and visual, the better!
In return, Exeter Connect will support the activity by providing marketing and badging it to the conference. We will be publicising it widely and produce a leaflet of details of all the sessions. If we are able to secure additional funding, we may be able to provide a small fee for expenses such as room hire but this is not guaranteed.
Please contact Johanna for further details: Johanna.korndorfer@eci.org.uk or mobile 07891 641177 or submit an online form here
All workshops must take place between 13– 22 November 2023 in order to be in the marketed programme.
Deadline for submission: Tuesday 3 October 2023.
